California Trip

My trip to California in March (apologies for taking so long to upload this blog) was a great success.

It was fantastic to spend some more time in clean air, great weather, eating wonderful food and of course to spend time with a couple of very good friends, Greg and Susan.

The main purpose of the trip was to reconnect with them and spend some time with Greg at the golf course he was based at for the “winter months” (Mountain View Country Club). It allowed me the time to practice and get some photographs taken for the GolfPunk China instruction articles in the April and May issues. I was also able to get a few YouTube instruction videos made (which you can access via the link here: Simon Dewsbury Golf or on my homepage).

The trip would have been totally complete if I had been able to meet up with both Julie Buehler (sports reporter for KXPS 1010AM radio) and Elizabeth Vargas (CEO of Edge Music Network), particularly as it was Elizabeth’s birthday just a few days after I returned to Shanghai, but sadly due to conflicting schedules it was impossible to arrange, and I look forward to the next trip back to spend some time with these amazing women.

The weather in La Quinta was absolutely sublime and I only wish I could have spent longer in that amazing location before having to return to dreary, smoggy, cold and wet Shanghai.

I was able to spend some time "re-connecting with Nature" as I was able to visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and go up to Mount San Jacinto State Park. It may have been touching 90F degrees on the Valley floor, but there was still snow on the ground at the Peak. Beautiful and refreshing, with stunning scenery.

Also spending my last morning on Huntington Beach with beautiful houses, and clear blues skies, as well as a few “surfer dudes” completed the trip and I look forward to returning to SoCal in the future.
